Welcome to Dan's Homepage
Nov. 18, 2008
Wanted to get out and do a short easy run. This is my first run since the race. My feet are
still healing. Did a slow 32:52. It was great to get out and run.

Mother Road 100 - II - Nov. 8, 2008
Here are a few pictures from the race.

What does it take to run 100 miles? A lot of training, tons of planning, and even more
important, a great crew. Here is some of the supplies I gathered on the dining room
table to get ready for race.

I had to work Friday night. So we loaded the truck at 11pm and headed out for western
Oklahoma. I slept in the backseat while Jo Ann and Brian drove the 4 hour trip to Elk City.
My sweet wife, with very little sleep, got up early Saturday morning to get me ready.
I could not have done this without her help.
Just minutes before the start. A little sleepy before starting the race.

My son Brian who did a GREAT job of pacing and taking care of his Dad.

Some of the pacers who kept me going at night. Patty Powell, Emily Preddy.
(Not shown Jason McGinnis)
Beth Burnett, me, Chris Cordt, and my son Brian

Brian carried my water belt during the last 10 miles. Here I am grabbing a bottle.
I'm pretty wiped out at this point.

Crossing the Finish Line!

Now is the time to turn away. The following image is not something you will
enjoy seeing.

You have been warned.............

Toe blister at the finish line.

It wasn't the as fast as I had planned, but the bottom
line is I finished. Time for a new challenge. Something
a bit more healthy.
